A Fun, Family business

I raised rabbits for about 12 years growing up. I loved it and learned a lot about rabbits in that time.

I am an animal-lover and am particularly passionate about livestock. Growing up on a mixed (grain & cattle) farm gave me great opportunity to play with and raise rabbits, pigeons, pigs, cattle, horses, cats and dogs. My agriculture exposure and passion landed me in university pursuing Veterinary Medicine. After 2 years of university I decided to finish my Agriculture Degree in Animal Science and work in the field of agriculture, which I have.

I married an amazing man from BC who loves animals (bonus for me) and works with GIANT timbers. We have our own timber framing company, Top Peg Timber Frame Construction. Wayne is handy, artistic and handsome! We are having fun developing our own businesses while raising our young family.

Most recently, before having kids, I worked as an Animal Health Inspector for the Canadian Food Inspection agency in Red Deer.

We moved to an acreage in January 2015 which came with many cages set up for exotic birds. I had a better vision: they would make great rabbit runs!

Because our (then) 2 year old daughter, Jayda, is animal crazy too, I decided we should raise rabbits making our daily entertainment be: playing with and caring for bunnies. That is exactly what we do! It has been great for us all and we love it.

I purchased some breeding stock in 2015 and in 2016, sold our first litters shortly after that and started showing hollands lops in 2016. Showing has been what keeps me raising hollands. The bonus is providing bunnies to love for many great families. I am continually encouraged to continue raising quality hollands and I definitely call it fun.
